History of Koolschijn
1920
1920-1929
The start of Koolschijn Building materials in Delft. The photo is taken on a site at the Ezelsveldlaan in Delft
1930
1930-1939
In the thirties of the last century Koolschijn delivered building materials from the location Rotterdamseweg in Delft. What kind of materials were delivered? Lots of sand , stone and lime ( slaked lime was made on site).
1940
1940-1949
It was a difficult time because of the war years. The trucks were soon confiscated by the Germans. Below is a photo of the extinguishing of lime. Air lime or calcium hydroxide was created by slaking quicklime with water. Quicklime was obtained by burning limestone or shells, which mainly consist of calcium carbonate.
1950
1950-1959
Strong increase in construction work after the war. Many new homes were built under the Reconstruction Act. Building materials trade Koolschijn grew with it.
1960
1960-1969
In addition to the location at Rotterdamseweg 172 in Delft, the site at Rotterdamseweg 352 was purchased. This led to the start of tiles and flagstone sales. The kitchens were also sold from this location.
1970
1970-1979
In the 70s last century. The building of houses reached as far as the sky. Koolschijn Bouwmaterialen decides to purchase Rotterdamseweg 150-C.
1980
1980-1989
Expansion of showroom range with kitchens (Rotterdamseweg 352)
1990
1990-1999
Construction of the current Showroom Rotterdamseweg 352. Strong expansion of kitchens, bathrooms and tile presentation. Fireplaces are also extensively featured in the spacious showroom.
2000
2000-2010
In 2002 Bouwcenter Koolschijn moves to the building at Cyclotronweg 3 in Delft. With a 1600 square meter store and a drive-in for wood and building materials, we are ready for more and more customers.

2010-2019
Koolschijn has been offering quality and service for 100 years.
